It sounds funny, but you can become so familiar with your dog’s ear positions that you’ll know what kind of mood she’s in.
For instance, if her ears are raised high, she is very interested in what’s going on. If they’re going forwards and backwards interchangeably, she may be feeling uncertain.
But a dog whose ears are flat to the head and moved towards the back needs a comforting pet as he may be feeling fearful. Submissive dogs tend to put their ears in this position to look less threatening.
