The first thing to know when teaching your dog a new trick is their attention span is extremely short! The other thing is that you usually need to repeat the trick over and over again until they really have it down. Be patient and also lavish with your praise. A healthy treat when she gets it right is always a wonderful incentive.
This is a great activity on a rainy day, when the weather is too lousy to go for your usual walk. It keeps her interested in life and her mind active. (You too!) Much better than curling up all day with an unhealthy bowl of potato chips and bad TV shows.
