I wanted to make the point that even if finances are tight, it’s important to keep up with your pet’s vet visits. Avoid a larger health issue by making sure your dog’s teeth are cleaned regularly, vaccinations are kept up with and yearly exams aren’t skipped. If we decide to take on the responsibility of pet ownership, it’s important to maintain the health of our animals.
I realize it can be difficult when finances are strapped, but perhaps there are nonessentials that can be cut back on to allow this care. Still ordering out pizzas every Friday night? Maybe it’s time to start cooking more homemade meals. Starbucks in the morning? You can make a cup of coffee at home and carry it to work. You’d be surprised at places you can save money for more essential things, like your dog’s veterinary care.
