Symbols, even something as materialistic as a gold dog charms , have a lot of meaning for me. This becomes even more important if I’ve just lost a favorite pet. The pain we all experience with the death of an animal is very real, and if there is anything that can lend a little support and comfort I’m all for it. Symbols representing my dear friends have given me a lot of comfort throughout the years.
It’s hard to talk about, but eventually our beloved pets will move on to either Heaven or their next lifetime, depending on your religion. I like to think of my little dog with a new puppy body, frolicking with a new family that loves him as much as I did. This makes me smile, and even if I’m wrong, so what? I think it’s important to believe in something.
